Maronti Beach

The road bends towards the sea by making some sharp turns that unveil one of Ischia’s most beautiful and renowned holiday spots, Maronti Beach. The beach stretches southward between Punta della Signora (east) and the promontory of Sant’Angelo (west). The village and its facilities are located right behind the beach: the little square with the café, the small gardens, the boutique, the news-stand, typical restaurants, hotels and spas, the bus stop and the taxi stand (take a ride on the island's typical ‘microtaxi’). The beauty of Maronti Beach is simply enchanting and leaves you speechless: here the sea meets the coastline and you feel isolated in the midst of nature. But you are not: the other villages are all easy reach.From the little square (‘piazzetta’) public transport departs to Ischia Porto (8Km km) where most shops, taverns with local singers playing Neapolitan music and discos are located. From the beach you can catch a ‘taxi-boat’ to Sant’Angelo, the picturesque fishermen’s village across the bay where cars are not allowed, and wander through the little streets and hunt for something special like a dress or a jewel. Or you can sit down at the café on the ‘piazzetta’ and sip a coffee. Sea lovers and sun bathers alike and even those who like to pamper themselves in thermal waters flock to Maronti beach to give a break to their bodies and souls.
